Family Counseling

La Alianza Hispana’s Family Counseling Center, located at 78 Forest Street in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood, provides bilingual and culturally competent mental health and family support services to the Greater Boston Area residents, with special emphasis in the Latino community. The center is open Monday – Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

The La Alianza Hispana Family Counseling Center conducts its clinical social work and intensive case management through a strengths-based, family-centered, and collaborative approach.  Our comprehensive services aim to provide crisis intervention, to increase clients’ access to community resources, and to empower individuals and families to successfully manage various behavioral and mental health, as well as, systemic challenges.

Our clinical social work and intensive case management is strengths-based, family-centered, and collaborative. We provide crisis intervention, education and counsel, client access to community resources, and guidance through the behavioral and mental health services available in the broader community.

Family Stabilization and Support

The Family Stabilization and Support Service provides in-home crisis intervention aimed at returning destabilized or collapsing families back to emotional, physical, and financial stability.

The Family Support and Stabilization Service is provided in conjunction with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Department of Children and Families (DCF)

The Family Stabilization and Support service uses a team-based approach where both a clinical social worker and a case manager are assigned to work with each at-need family. Together, the case worker and social worker directly engage the family, focusing on  conflict resolution and behavior modification, on developing skills and tools to help prevent future crises, and on connecting the family with additional social and economic services necessary to further stabilize and maintain the family.

This ‘wraparound’ approach to family stabilization – where the family is assisted by two trained professionals across a wide dimension of needs (therapeutic, educational, medical, legal, day-to-day) – allows the La Alianza Hispana and the DCF to improve outcomes for families in crisis.

Services are available to families referred by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Any family with a DCF referral for these services can choose to have these services provided by La Alianza Hispana.
