BOSTON- La Alianza Hispana honored three Latinas as the Women of Courage 2013 on the 5th Annual Women of Courage Celebration held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at One Financial Center located at 675 Atlantic Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts with great success. The three honorees were Dr. Eleonora Villegas-Reimers, Lillian Gonzalez, and Zoraida de la Rosa.

BOSTON- La Alianza Hispana invites the public at large to join its Board of Directors, staff, corporate and community sponsors in honoring three Latinas who have been chosen as the next Women of Courage 2013 on the 5th Annual Women of Courage Celebration to be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at One Financial Center located at 675 Atlantic Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts. The event starts with registration at 7:30 AM and breakfast and event follows from 8:00 AM- 10:00 AM.

BOSTON- The Board of Directors of La Alianza Hispana, Inc, located in Roxbury, Massachusetts announces the hiring of its new Executive Director, Ms. Marisol Amaya-Aluigi effective September 27, 2013. For the past seven months, Mr. Tristram Blake, retired executive director of the South End Community Health Center, was the Acting Executive Director, responsible for helping the organization to rise from a very difficult financial position including leading the search for the next permanent executive leader. After extensive search from the search committee of this important Latino non-profit community organization, Marisol Amaya-Aluigi was selected as the new leader. Ms. Amaya-Aluigi brings an extensive experience developing programs for the Latino community in this region. With management experience in community-based organizations for over 15 years, Ms. Amaya-Aluigi was the former program director of the Adult Day Health and Senior Center at La Alianza Hispana for eight years. A committed advocate and program developer in the non-profit sector, Ms. Amaya-Aluigi specializes on issues of interest to the Latino community including elder services and services for persons with disabilities, especially innovating programs to keep them active in the community.
